I’m Growing Out My Grey Hair

outside

I think this picture illustrates the fact that “I’m Growing Out My Grey Hair ” Usually, I wear my hair curly which has made the task of growing it out so much easier. Today I thought I would blow it out to see how far it has left to go. Well, It’s gotta long way to go…  I’m excited to see it through, and I think some style changes might be in store.

I’ll keep you posted!

I let my hair go grey a few years back. I found a wardrobe change was needed because suddenly all the things that used to look good with red hair looked bloody awful with silver. I’ve since dyed my hair again as I didn’t like the odd blotchy effect my grey came through as. When I retire I’ll let it go grey again – or maybe I’ll go platinum blonde! YOu, my dear, look mahvelous!

menomama3, Thank You! Silver is the new black! Going grey is surely an adjustment. I think I will add some platinum highlights in front when it finishes growing out. Then again, maybe sooner.

Corinne, you are so hott (sorry, with the kid living here, it’s affecting my language). I love your hair! And your shirt and your jacket and your neckaces and your bag.

Sue, Thanks!!!! The shirt was gilt from a few years ago and sadly it’s beginning to fall apart. The jacket was Macy’s also about 5 years ago. I need some new clothes!!!!

Love love love it. I’m 6 months into transition. I did some dark lowlights, I’m typically a blonde, that helped a lot. Now just letting her go. My friend who’s doing the same thing remarked that it’s hard to tell just what’s there til I pull it back then bam. There is a lot there. I don’t care. I love the look.
Thanks for your share. It’s inspiring. 🙂

  9. Billie says:

Growing mine out surprised at all the different colors. I’ve alway been brownish blonde now grey with some dark colors. Easy no more coloring time love it.

  10. Striking Gray says:

Your grey hair is a striking contrast with your young smooth skin, blonde, red nails, and jewelry. You are a graybe and on your way to being a silver fox!

  11. Carol Eichstadt says:

Love the outfit, hair and the entire look!

  12. Laura says:

Love your hair! I’m 3 months without coloring and I’m not very happy. Also I’m looking for a job! So I want to keep in touch to see how you’re doing. Thanks!

    • corinnetrowbridge says:

Hi Laura! Crap, I so get it. I highlighted my hair and boy did that make a difference in the grow out stage. Think about that option, it really worked for me.

  13. Diana Dermid says:

Having dyed my hair for so many years, I decided last year that I was tired of every 5-6 weeks putting chemicals on my head and sitting for 30-40 minutes. About 6 months after my last dye job, I had my hair cut off really short and was shocked at how much gray I have. But now I absolutely love it. There’s so much freedom in going natural and my husband is a big fan of it. Corinne you look great and you are proof positive that you can go natural and still look young.

  14. Jill says:

I’m blonde and my girlfriend grew out her grey hair. She gets the compliments, not me. You go girl and be fabulous.

  15. Liz says:

I’m trying to do the same thing! Hardest part is the bangs. You look great, so have patience.

  16. Kathleen says:

Just started growing my out, 3 months ago, just had a trim yesterday, my hair was brown with highlights, husband is not to keen, you look absolutely fantastic, hope I look the same.

  17. Kathy Riley says:

It took me a year but I did it. My husband likes it. My five grown kids not so much. I have 17 grandchildren so I figure I have earned my grey hair. One of my daughters says I am very Diane Keatonish

    • corinnetrowbridge says:

Kathy, I’m still stuck on 5 kids and 17 grandchildren!!! You have certainly earned your grey hair and sounds like you wear it confidently and with joy. Enjoy!

  18. Mandy says:

I recently got my already short hair cut into an even shorter pixie style. (Since I’m 72, I’ve asked friends and family to stage some sort of intervention if I start muttering about tattoos and piercings. Spiky hair is one thing but inflicting a tattooed old lady on a suffering nation is quite another.) One unexpected result is that I’m seeing what I THINK is my real hair color for the first time in ???? and I’m at a loss to know what to do. It seems to be a sort of salt and pepper grey, slightly whiter at the front. I’ll have to wait for another couple of weeks to find out what’s going on. In the meantime, bidding goodbye to foam rollers and straightening tools has been a boon.

    • corinnetrowbridge says:

Yay Mandy! You go girl! I would love to get a tattoo and considering more ear piercings so lead the way please!

  19. Karen says:

You look fabulous not only your hair style but your outfit looks great too

  20. Claudia says:

I’ve grown out my hair and have wisdom highlights. Love, love, love it
